Oh Christmas tree ... oh Christmas tree

Hi all, I thought I would take a break from generating our Christmas gift guides and show you the latest decorating we have done in my home ... yes you guessed it, its our tree.

Although we have had our Christmas tree up in our home since August due to the Homes+ photo shoot, we decided to change it. The reason you ask?? Well, our original Christmas tree is over 25 years - it belonged to my parents and it was our Christmas tree when I was a child, but it has now started to fall apart. The second tree was a real live tree (the kid's love it, but due to the extremely weather we are experiencing in Sydney at the moment, our real christmas tree was really struggling with the heat, so we bit the bullet and bought a new one.

We purchased our newest Christmas tree from Balsam Hill. Tin stars/baubles from Foiling Star.

Are you looking for a colour scheme that's feminine and sophisticated but a little bit different to the norm? Then why not try decorating with earthy tones - golds, ambers, ochres - traditionally seen also as warm autumn tones but why not use them all year round. I'm sure your friends and family will love them too.

Christmas Gift Guide #2 - Monochrome love ... Part 1

I am not sure why, but for the past few months I have been loving a MONOCHROME pallet. The neutrality of such a pallet as largely dictated the colour choice of a number of homewares in our online store. For this reason I have broken this gift guide up into two parts - one focusing on black and charcoal greys, with the second post focusing on white with timber accents.

The selected homewares in these gift guides are perfect for decorating your kitchen, dining, living room and bedroom, but most importantly, they are all in stock so and can easily be purchased as a fabulous gift to give someone special (or to treat yourself).

6. Bloomingville charcoal grey conic ceramic candlestick - $27.00
